Liddy, the founder of Sewing Center, was born in Arizona. One of four children she spent her childhood years in California and Miami Beach, Fl. She showed her first interest in designing and sewing at the age of five when she made her first outfit. At seventeen Liddy moved to New York and studied at the Fashion Institute of Technology where she graduated with honors and was Student Council President. She enjoyed being a fashion designer until she retired to raise her family. In the meantime, she continued her education and received another degree in Interior Design. In 1975 she designed, contracted and built a home in Boca Raton, FL. Missing the fashion industry she decided to open a retail sewing store in Hillsboro Boulevard in Deerfield Beach, FL.
Quickly outgrowing its original location, Sewing Center upgraded and moved to Boca Raton and has been a favorite among sewing enthusiasts since the spring of 1982. The shop is committed to providing customers with a wide selection of embroidery and sewing supplies at the lowest possible prices.
